The Comics
25 albums of action, intrigue, and adventure since 1990
Created by writer Jean Van Hamme and artist Philippe Francq, the Largo Winch comic series has sold over 33 million copies in 25 languages. Each story is told across two albums—the first ends on a cliffhanger, the second brings resolution. Van Hamme wrote the first 20 albums before passing the writing duties to Éric Giacometti and later Jérémie Guez.

This prequel trilogy, illustrated by Philippe Berthet with Jean Van Hamme returning to write, reveals how the Winczlav fortune was built across generations:
- Vanko 1848: In Montenegro, young doctor Vanko Winczlav joins a peasant insurrection against tyranny. Forced to flee, he meets Veska and they embark for the New World.
- Tom et Lisa 1910: In Oklahoma, Thomas Winczlav and his twin sister Lisa inherit O'Casey Whiskies. As WWI breaks out, Thomas builds the business while Lisa, a pioneering aviator, takes to the skies.
- Danitza 1965: Nerio Winch's ruthless rise to power, and how Largo came to be adopted. The missing link in Largo's origin story.
